In Santa Monica, the best-known bakeries and bagel shops have lines on weekend mornings, so arrive early or order ahead where the shop offers it. Across California, immigrant bakeries add Mexican pan dulce, Vietnamese banh mi bread, Chinese buns, Middle Eastern sweets and European rye to the mix, and many gluten-free and vegan bakeries have opened in larger cities. Check the listing for hours, whether the shop accepts custom cake orders and its Google rating before you go, and call about allergens, since small kitchens often share equipment. Day-old bread and end-of-day discounts are common if you ask.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 7 am–2:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Customers rate it 4.4 out of 5 on Google across 577 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded bagel shops in Santa Monica.

Santa Monica is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Santa Monica follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We got the Sammi Egg Sammy and it was presented well and neat. Tasted good but a little too salty for our taste. But for others it might be good. We also got the banana foam latte matcha and coffee. That was delicious.

So good!!! I had to go twice on a roll on my trip. I don't think I ever ate something that felt so fresh. All the options on the menu seemed great, and everything I ate was super delicious. The salmon one is one of the greatest things I ever ate, no joke! The breakfast one with eggs was very nice too, very fullfilling, I even shared half with my husbad. Would go back a thousand times!

We came here early and it was such a good call. I had the salmon with everything bagel and the egg one, and both tasted great β€” fresh, flavorful, and really satisfying. The everything bagel added a nice crunch and seasoning that worked perfectly with the salmon, and the egg option was simple but done really well. We got there before 8 am and there was no line, which made everything super smooth. But by around 9 am, a line had already formed, so it definitely gets busy pretty quickly. If you want to avoid the wait, coming early is the way to go. Overall, a great breakfast spot with solid options and worth the timing strategy.

Layla Bagels is very good, I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Parking is a little bit tricky, if it's busy, you would have to walk one block max to get to Layla. We did get a couple of bagels today, mine was Sammi's Egg Sammy, if you get this please add bacon and avocado, absolutely makes the difference. My gf did ordered The Lily, you can see the photos here. Very clean place, very nice atmosphere, sometimes the line is absolutely insane so I would recommend you to go and try it out on weekdays, at least that is what we do when we go there. Also tables are hard to get because it gets very busy. Definitely recommend this place, if you can walk there I think it would be better.

My all time favorite place to grab brunch in LA. The laika bagel, the Scarlett, and the fruit one are chefs kiss. And the coffee! My bf always gets the spicy bec with avocado. The people who work here (Luke and Chris) are super nice. And they have a nice loyalty program for the regulars like myself.
